Description of work undertaken
Michael's work is both diverse and dynamic. It involves:
- leading and contributing to the development and implementation of innovative strategies and projects,
- managing statewide and individual project budgets,
- engaging and developing partnerships with Government and non-Government stakeholders to manage invasive plants and animals,
- providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior managers and Ministers, and
- fostering leadership and professional development in staff within the DPI Landscape Protection portfolio.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) - University of Melbourne and Master of Business Administration - Monash University.
Advice to students
Students up to year 10
Enjoy exploring all subjects and don't think too hard about what the future holds, you will quickly grasp those areas and fields that interest you.
VCE students
Consider studying the subjects you enjoy as you will perform best in these, but also invest time into researching what areas of work and specific jobs interest you. These may require qualifications that, in turn, may require you to study specific subjects in Years 11 and 12. The more research you do, the better informed decision you will be able to make.
Tertiary students
Study what interests you and research the associated fields and vocations. Often study and work experience will provide you with a transferable skill set that you can take into a new area of interest. Say 'yes' to any and all opportunities that come along, they all build life experience.
