'Work
Awareness Day' is a
school-based component of LandLearn careers information
activities. It is targets middle years students
(Years 5 - 8) in both primary and secondary schools,
promoting awareness and knowledge of careers associated
with the agriculture, natural resource management,
food and related industries. A 'Work Awareness
Day' also highlights awareness of other work available
in the local area through participation by school
parents/guardians and other community members
who discuss their work and careers with the students.
Organisation
of the 'Work Awareness Day' is lead by a school-based
committee, with a teacher or group of teachers
coordinating information delivery to relevant
parties and preparing students for the day. The
program can include an information session for
parents/guardians, a launch by a prominent member
of the local community and finally, the students
interacting with people in real jobs in their
local area. In metropolitan schools the emphasis
is on highlighting the urban-based jobs available
in agriculture, food processing and natural resource
management

letters, invitations, student participation cards,
briefing notes, schedule, thank you certificates
and evaluation sheets. Templates of these documents

Work Awareness Day.
