DPI Young Scientists

The DPI Young Scientists program aims to engage students in science and sustainable agriculture, promoting science and agriculture as an attractive and exciting sector in which they can build rewarding careers.

Over the five day program a group of four or five Year 9 - 10 students help solve real problems posed by DPI staff and learn about the range of work being undertaken by the Department. Students also gain skills in project planning, teamwork, communication and presentation development. This program is run by LandLearn from DPI sites in Tatura, Knoxfield & Attwood.

To find out more about this program refer to the DPI Young Scientists Fact Sheet for schools or email landlearn.program@dpi.vic.gov.au.

Have you visited the Careers File yet?
'The Careers File' tells the stories of young people working in roles associated with agriculture, natural resource management and food processing. Students, their parents and teachers, and other users can read about the work undertaken in specific jobs, explore the opportunities arising from University courses and other training, and reflect on the advice and hints given by people who not long ago were students themselves.
