Careers in Agriculture

1. Working with a partner, record a mock interview for a position in a rural industry.
2. Write a letter of application for a position in a rural industry.
3. You have just been employed in a rural industry position. Describe your first day at work.
4. If you met one of the people interviewed for the OnTrack CD, what five questions would you ask them about their career?
5. List three things you now know about rural careers that you didn't know before you viewed this CD-ROM.
6. Design and produce a poster promoting a rural career.

Working in Agriculture

7. Using newspapers, magazines and the internet, compile a page of photographs of people working in the rural industries. Add appropriate captions to identify or explain the roles or tasks shown.
8. Construct a model or design a poster of a best practice dairy or shearing shed. Identify the different work roles associated with the shed you have represented.
9. Arrange a guest speaker representing a rural industry for your class.

Be Your Own Boss

10. In a small group, identify possible avenues for making money from agriculture. Set up a business with your group growing the product, marketing and finally selling the end product.
